The kettle instead of the choir will be singing at Timperley Methodist Church on 28th September as Val Laws hosts her fourteenth annual coffee morning there to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Val’s coffee morning has raised over £1000 each year for the past thirteen years as part of Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which took in a record-breaking £10 million last year across the UK. The coffee morning is open to the public from 10am-12pm on Friday 28th September and will hold stalls and a raffle as well as selling hot drinks and sweet treats, including Val’s own homemade marmalade.

Hosting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning enables people to make time for what really matters with family and friends, as well as their local community, whilst raising money to support local people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Val says, ‘we’re very proud to support Macmillan again this year with our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We hope people in the local area come along to support us.’

Local Fundraising Manager, Amy Lewis, says ‘it’s fantastic to have such dedicated supporters like Val, who go above and beyond year on year to raise funds for local Macmillan services.’
