Local artist Stephen Campbell, represented by Hale’s Clark Art gallery, is unveiling a specially commissioned painting of Hale railway station, as part of the ‘All Aboard Hale 150’ celebrations.

The event will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the railway station being opened in Hale.

The painting captures Hale train station in Campbell’s unique fish eye style. A print will be presented to the Hale Civic Society, at 2.30pm, on Sunday 12 May in the presence of Brian Hargreaves, Lord Mayor of Hale and accompanying VIPS. The original picture will then be displayed in Clark Art gallery on Ashley Road.

Stephen Campbell, artist, said:

“It’s flattering to be approached by the Hale Civic Society to paint their historic railway station. I recently painted a series of Hale oil paintings entitled – Remember Me, Danilo’s, Hale Cemetery and Ashley Road.

“The ‘All Aboard Hale 150’ is a wonderful day of celebrations including music, dancing and food stalls – come down and celebrate with the whole community and join us in Clark Art gallery afterwards.”
