Altrincham – THE Place for Mother’s Day

March 21, 2014 11:12 am

Altrincham Forward is encouraging people to shop local and support local retailers in advance of this Mother’s Day.

Whether it’s fantastic flowers, scrummy chocolates and local produce and gifts or that piece of stylish jewellery or artwork, there really is something for all tastes and pockets.  Altrincham Forward will be taking to social media to tweet all the latest offers and gift ideas. Check them out at @AltrinchamFWD on Twitter.

On the day itself, Altrincham Market is hosting a special themed market to mark the occasion. There will be gorgeous foods and chocolates to sample and buy and flowers to lavish on mum. And that’s not all, there will be plenty of fizz available to help families celebrate this special day in style as well as the chance to sit back and relax aboard a vintage bus, courtesy of Goodwins.

While a key focus of Altrincham, the market also benefits from being an integral part of an exciting mix of shopping, food and leisure opportunities which people can enjoy.

Executive Councillor Michael Hyman, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Economic Growth, said: “The work of everyone involved in Altrincham Forward and the many passionate, committed community champions is making a real difference in driving footfall to the town however; we need the support from local people to keep our shops busy.

I would encourage people to pop along ahead of Mother’s Day, browse the many shops and stalls offering excellent value, high quality gift ideas and see for themselves why they don’t have to travel further afield for that special gift.”

The Altrincham Forward Team’s offices are based on Shaw’s Road, near to the market. The offices are open to the public and it is here you can find out more about what’s going on around the town, the redevelopment plans and share their views with the friendly team members.
