 Manchester's Answer to "Banksy"

Russ Meehan, made famous for his unique art on the Levenshulme House graffiti pieces and Scene in Spinningfields. His work left some of the biggest names in Manchester ecstatic in the past, having seen high-end celebrities auction on his pieces in the past, such as Wayne Rooney’s sky TV series “street walker” and Vincent Company so he blew people away at the Altrincham 2015 festival.

Russ Meehan turned to donating his services to be able to help Marie Curie Cancer Care; He is currently auctioning six unique canvases from this year’s festival. The finished pieces can all be bought together to make one big mural giving an insight into French life to bought individually to be able to give a glimpse into the idealism behind Paris. The work is built up of different Paris elements, things like the robins, Metro Line Nine signs, Eiffel Tower and even the Moulin Rouge.

This is another amazing event after years of the festival raising money and awareness for the charity in the Greater Manchester Area. So far since 2013 they have reached a grand total of £8,000 raised and seen 5,000 people attending the event each year.

Russ has made it clear that he was delighted with being able to have his work chosen to be presenting and auctioned for such a good cause. The very nature of his status and the fact he spray paints for his passion and not for money, simply adds to the fact that he is one of the greatest Manchester street artists ever seen. With his contribution to the cause and a record breaking turnout this year’s Altrincham Festival was in one word “spectacular”.

Here is the page were you can bid for the amazing Russ Meehan French pieces, on behalf of Altrincham French Festival, see you next year.
