Secret Public with Dave Haslam in Altrincham

Dave Haslam TemperanceOn Wednesday the 20th June Altrincham Library is holding a free event with Dave Haslam as part of Trafford Word Fest, this is a free event.

Dave Haslam is a renouned author and DJ who made his name in Manchester as a DJ at the infamous Hacienda nightclub and the Temperance club in the 1980′s. His litertary career started when he founded the music fanzine ‘Debris’, then wrote for Music magazine NME which paved the way for introductions to broadsheet journalism including regular pieces in the Times and the Guardian.

Dave has had an eclectic career both with music and journalism and has even set up his own music labels. With such an exciting lifestyle and pedigree it is no wonder his books became incredibly popular with music fans and literary critics.

Dave has remained close to where his career began and works at Salford University as well as lecturing at MMU, and this week will be sharing his knowledge and experience to the Music lovers and writers of Altrincham as he presents at Altrincham Library.

Dave Haslams talk, the Secret Public, is part of Traffords Word Fest in which a number of authors from around the region will be giving talks to celebrate the written and spoken word.

You can see Dave Haslam at 7.30pm on Wednesday the 20th June in a free event, however booking is advised to avoid disappointment as we expect places to run out quick.
