Altrincham has a lot of parking spaces available, from council Pay & Displays to privately owned car parking places. We have included 4 large, and popular car parking locations in the map above. Clicking on a marker will bring up the location details, as well as offering a link to Google Maps.

Locations and prices

To encourage people to visit Altrincham parking prices are currently quite low, and visitors can park in the town centre for only 10p per hour at on street parking bays and council owned car parks. Monday to Saturday parking cost 30p for 2 hours, 70p for 3 hours and all day parking prices in off-street car parks is £3. Parking in these areas on a Sunday is free.

The above prices are in the town centre with the exception of Regent Road car park which is £6 and is to promote the parking for regular commuters rather than visitors.

The Stamford Quarter has a multi-storey car park that includes 24 hour security and eco lighting. The car park can be accessed through the High Street and has lifts and stairs that bring you straight out onto George Street.

Altrincham is always striving to help attract visitors to the town centre, and parking often plays a large part in this. Trafford council are planning on allowing car owners to pay for parking using their credit or debit cards and an “iApp” is in discussions that drivers can download to access information on real time availability in car parks in Altrincham.

On street parking

There are a lot of on street parking opportunities around Altrincham. Most of these are pay and display and are have limited availability, however they potentially offer more convenience.

Read the signs

There is a lot of traffic parking enforcement in Altrincham, so if you park at an on street Pay & Display, make sure that you read the signs and know how long you’re able to stay for. A lot of the on street parking is limited to approx 2 hours, and is no return. If you intend on staying in Altrincham for longer than this, we would recommend you use one of the dedicated car parks such as the multi-storey off the High Street.
